is rather simple...I like to read. About 15 years ago I was in a used bookstore in Pasadena, CA and was glancing through a 1950s edition of Huck Finn...as I flipped the pages a card fell out...a '55 Bowman Willie Mays...must have been used as a bookmark and forgotten by some child in the '50s...I would have loved to find a name in the book and try to return the card for the heck of it but alas, no name. I did offer to pay the book seller for the "extra" bookmark and he laughed...I paid $5 for the book and the card...still have the card...gave the book to a teacher friend. |
