i was afraid of this very scenario (live bid takes precendence over absentee bidding) so I cancelled all my internet bids and requested to be a live phone bidder. Different approach, same result as I did not win any lots and contributed to the rising stock of e94s and caramel cards in general.

p.s.I wasn't a bidder but was on the phone when the e94 lot closed for $2600 and I was sure tbob had won it because bob had told me that was his max bid and I stupidly assumed another bidder had to go $2.7k to win it. You live and learn...
