Default 1933 Diamond Matchbook football

John, I guess since i started this forum so i guess i get to play "thread critic", and I also understand what this forum should be or not be discussing.

As is stated on the home page of the forum it is primarily for the discussion of pre-wwII baseball cards, with the key word being primarily.

I personally found your question interesting and fitting within the broad outlines of the forum on a one-off basis. However, Leon was sharing an opinion (which I agree with) that lately there have been too many off topic threads which have taken us away from our primary discussion area. I don't believe that Leon was attacking your thread in particular, hence his "veiled and seemingly innocuous" comments. An occasional post off the primary area is interesting, but too many drives people away. I'm sure people would get bored pretty quickly if I started threads discussing the NHL lockout.

I take umbrage with you suggesting that Leon should be looking at other forums when this forum was specifically set up to discuss areas that he is interested in. Further, Leon has been a valuable and contributing member of this forum helping many people out with answers to their questions. Perhaps I have missed it, but I do not recall you doing the same.

Elliot
