The reality is that unless Bill Gates or Paul Allen are very knowledgeable about cards (which they aren't, as far as I'm aware), they'd have no inkling whatsoever what Pre-War cards are the ones to buy. If some billionaire wanted to start collecting baseball memorabilia, he'd probably buy something like a Barry Bonds home run ball or a Mickey Mantle jersey. Or, in Paul's case, the Portland Trailbazers. Your Nadjas and Uzits and Pinkertons are likely safe from Bill Gate's big money, because he likely doesn't have the knowledge required to make quality choices. And I'm sure if Bill was already collecting T207s and Turkey Reds on eBay and at shows, we'd know it. Keith Olberman's ebay name is common knowledge. |
