For me the obvious giveaway was the back design. From all T206 backs I have seen none have that big space at the bottom below the advert.

difficulty in identifying. I see some of the posts on ebay, and some that are brought to our attention in the Forum, and wish that they were ALL so obvious.

Sometimes I walk into a card show, and all the cards look short...I'm not kidding!

And sometimes, all the corners look too sharp.

And sometimes I'll see a T206 (usually graded), and I'll think "That card looks like it was made yesterday," and than i think, "Maybe it was..."

And all I can do is walk away.

Another red flag is that the seller states thet he bought it on eBay and thinks it may be real. So giving the bidders the potential risk factor helps to exonerate him in case the buyer is not satisfied.

"This is a 1909 T 206 Ty Cobb that I purchased several months ago on Ebay. I believe it is authentic but I cannot guarantee"

I consider myself a green horn when it comes to t206 but this says fake all over it, Like Julie said I wish they were all so easy to spot.
