Excuse me for being ignorant but what exactly is lot number 810 ? Has anyone ever seen one before ? Whats the story behind it and it's rarity ? |

It is listed in the vintage minor league section of the Standard Catalog--page 1508 of the 2005 edition. |

It is the earliest minor league card set and the earliest photographic card set. The set, as it is known, consists of three players from the 1886 Syracuse Stars. The players, all of whose cards are unique, are Buckley and Tomney(who were later pictured in the Old Judge set) and Crothers, a pitcher who never made it to the majors. |
