...but why would you want to have such stories or photographs unless you were intending to deceive others into believing your signed items to be real? It would make sense to have them for your item or for an item you were interested in purchasing. But absent that, I don't see a benevolent cause -- especially considering your request involved Rube Marquard, as opposed to Ty Cobb, Walter Johnson or Christy Mathewson, about whom the stories of obtaining a signature would be interesting to a lot of people. Marquard, on the other hand, signed autographs for the better part of his life up until his death in 1980.
