that a team in professional baseball has come back to force a game seven after being down 3-0. Twice in the NHL a team has come back from 0-3 to win a series (Flyers in 1975 & Maple Leafs in 1941 or 42).

I'm not a fan of any of the teams (stupid Twins!), but I really don't think deep down that Boston fan wants to win a World Series. If that happened, what the heck would they have to complain about? Futility and heart-break is what the Red Sox are all about, and have been since 1917 (or whenever they traded Ruth). They would lose their identity.
