I think no matter what your memorabilia focus is, everybody has at least one button. Let's see what's out there. Here's my favorite. |

Tom. Not to be a stick in the mud. But I am very sure the blue background Dimaggio is a fantasy pin, not vintage. |

Clint, not a bottom feeder to me. That Wichita pin is great...how difficult is that one? I only have a few pinbacks left as I'm streamlining my collection and getting rid of most everything that is not displayed (besides photos) or Nebraska related. |

Dan, it's fairly tough. I seen one on ebay sell for over $150 bucks. I think two button collectors got in a bidding war over it. I actually have two of them and one other different style. Have you ever seen any Lincoln Athletic buttons like these? |

Nope. No Athletics or Chiefs pins that I know of. The three lincoln pins I have are pre 1947 which would make them for the Lincoln Links which could have been either Western League or Nebraska State League. |

Thanks Dan. With the popularity of pins and buttons I would think that there's one out there. |

I'm getting closer in finding the dates on my Lincoln pinbacks...they are from sometime between 1906-1918 as those are the years Lincoln played at Antelope park. Lincoln built a new park in 1922 "Landis Park" named for Judge Kenesaw Landis where they played until Sherman Field was built in 1947. |

and iconic "Yellow Kid"..... The "kid" and other products born of R.F.Outcault's talent are pretty widely collected by a few different kinds of collectors. Artist Outcault's cartooning is noted as being the first successful running strip in a newspaper that produced income by it's inclusion - and a first of sorts as a "character" that was actively marketed on it's own. Outcault was also the artist for the well known Buster Brown and Tigue characters. Comes from a set of 155 or so with different themes. Dan, your Little Pinkies is from a set of 21 (really 20 as there are two variations of the base ball player). |

Dan, cool piece. I seen four or five different Sioux City buttons several months back. I was going to bid but they went for about 30-50 bucks apiece if I remember correctly. Where's the Wichita and Linclon ones hiding? |

I saw those pinbacks too Clint...and I know I said I was staying away from other teams in the Western League, but this was so hidden I'm sure I was the only collector who saw it...I ended up as the only bidder. I've seen quite a few different Sioux City over the years, but I don't think I've ever seen a Wichita (1950s) other than the two you showed recently, and I've never seen a 1947-61 Lincoln pinback. |
