Judgement of $4800.00 awarded to me this May after I appeared in court and presented my case to the Judge. This company has SERIOUS problems and treats some customers like dirt! They are paying for it this time. I have written the media who has handled the distribution of this case and will continue to do all I can to inform the card community of the quality of this company. Thanks to all of you who supported me through this. Sincerely, Dan Mckee. P.S. Please feel free to post this on the CU boards as I am sure that I am blocked. |

Thanks dan for letting us know about PSA. I have about 2000 cards mainly 50's I am getting graded soon for sale on Ebay. I think I have just narrowed my choice down to SGC and GAI. I Love this board! JC |

I have tried to tell everyone about Collector Universe/PSA for months now on this forum, but no one would listen. For a group of so called experts in the field of grading cards all I can think of is WHAT A BUNCH OF CLOWNS! |

Month's wouldn't have helped me, it has been over a year since PSA shafted me! My greed got me, I used to submit the few cards I would have graded to SGC, I sent this one to PSA because I had heard they give higher grades. 1 grade higher on a $5000 to $8000 card is well, thousands of dollars. So I thought I would be smart, dah, it has cost me well over $5000. I hope my next learning experience in this life is a little less expensive. Dan. |

Good work Dan. I am glad that the judge made PSA responsible for losing or stealing your card. |

Dan, you have not seen nothing yet, wait until I get finished with them in the courts. There days as a grading company will be numbered or in Basketball what is called a Slam Dunk, Baseball Home Run, Football Touchdown. Anyway you get my point! |

None of the PSA guys are responding to this thread, but I assume there is some discussion of the topic over on the CU board - if anyone finds it, please post a link. I'm just curious how it is being rationalized. |

i am glad you got your money back, however i much rather seen get the card back. it will be interesting to see if this card ever turns up in the hobby or if psa is just completely out of it and the card wound up in the trash forever lost. |

Glad to hear you got at least the monetary part of the deal back. I have to agree with the previous response I hope the card is not in the trash. |

Unfortunately Dave, winning the suit is far from getting my money back, that is an entirely different process. I am sure those slimes won't just pay. Dan. |

I have been out of town for a while. Can somebody explain what happened. I gather PSA lost a Magie card. Some details would be nice. |

The short version is that PSA lost a Magie card that was sent for quick turn-around. It was on a separate PO than other cards with normal turn-around, but in the same box. The other cards arrived OK. |

I submitted a 30 page document with just about everything you can think of covering my reputation, the ad I ran in SCD and the answers to it, and all of the emails having the card sold once graded by PSA. All the court sent back was a single page document just stating I won. I can scan that if you like, Dan. |

No, he listened to me, then listened to Bill Best of PSA who had nothing, except a few shots in the dark, then I completely countered, then the judge said I will look over the material and inform you by mail. The funny thing was when Bill said "this has never happened before" yet I had several other people who have had cards lost exactly the same way. The rceivers should be filmed, period! I am filmed buying a hot dog at 7-11, everything is filmed, bartenders, cashiers, what is the difference? These receivers are handling hundreds of thousands of dollars in cards and with NO accountability! Then he mentioned that the girl that opened my box was the most knowledgable about cards, well DAH! And the $6000 card is missing??? I would rather have had a card idiot, (like their graders) opening my box. |

Once you register your judgment, you can either garnish their bank account or attach their property and have it sold at public auction. I think they'll pay rather than face the embarassment of either of the above. |

I agree that if they lost the card, which obviously they did, you should have won the settlement...what I dont agree with Dan is that you didnt get the 6000 for it!!!!!!! Where did the other 1200 go?? I do think PSA has some decent grader...its the intangibles in every company that need working on. |

It's nice to hear that David (in this case Daniel) slew Goliath. To me it's very peculiar because now this opens PSA to a lot of other litigation. If this doesn't scare them then they are foolish. My guess is that the judge must have really debated the merits of Dan's efforts and credibility versus PSAs methods of receiving material. Either that or the judge got screwed over on a few submissions to PSA (bad joke). |

I believe the most you can ask for in small claims court in California is $5,000, which explains why Dan didn't ask for the full $6,000. I'm not sure why he asked for $4,800 instead of $5,000. Perhaps he felt that if he was asking the judge for the maximum the judge could award, the judge would feel (wrongly) he was being greedy and look less favorably on his case. Whatever the reasons, let me add my congratulations as well. |

I asked for $5K, I was awarded $4800 because that is what I had the card sold for to Alan Sassoon of NY. That is why the judge gave me the $4800 and not the $5K. Yes, CA small claims only goes to $5000, MD goes to $20,000. Anyway, I can't post the entire 30 page packet I prepared here but that is what the judge went through before rendering his decision. The decision was made by mail and the judge took a copy of my packet. I am the one that stated I would rather have a clueless person opening the boxes. I spoke with Bill for about 30 mins after the case, he seemed very nice and sincere though I am not sold. He stated they looked into getting cameras but they would need high-resolution and they were too expensive. Too expensive?? compared to the value coming into PSA in boxes? PSA does not care about you, me or any customer unless you are spending big bucks. They are in it for the money only, the hobby is of no interest to them. |

first of all psa is not as well off as stated previously. they are currently loosing about 300,000 per year. seems like a poorly run company since they should have very little overhead. they also have a market capitalization of 86 million. the fact that they have not put cameras in has nothing to do with money and everything to do with a poorly run business |
