1895 New England League cabinet photo on Ebay

In addition to the 1896 Keith's New England League Guide I have up for auction on Ebay this week, I have also added the second and last of two circa 1895 New England League cabinet photos of Fall River Indians shortstop D.E. It seems to me that the once "SUPER HOT" market for graded T206's we experienced a few short months ago has cooled off somewhat. This probably has something to do with all the recent Spring "Major Auctions". Also, when these cards were bringing these outrageous prices earlier in the year, it was usually a battle between 2-3 people to get a missing card for their set. One gets it, and they are out of the bidding frenzy (or lack of it) the next time around. NOW seems like the time to buy graded vintage cards - not sell them (at least for the time being). Although, some of the rarer ones and tougher ones will still sell well.

Any low-midgrade e107 that anyone is willing to sell or trade. It doesn't matter how bad the condition is. I'd be willing to pay well above market. I'm also interested in e97 Black & Whites if anyone has any available.

**e103 Christy Mathewson PSA 2 - $500 (one rough corner, 3 good ones; edges and surface are great. NO creases or wrinkles
**1887 Old Judge Clark Griffith GAI 1 - $400 (rough corners and faded photo but a rare card of a popular Hall of Famer
**1907 w555 Honus Wagner SGC 60 - $450 (Great shape and key card to a rare set.

One final thing, there is actually a specific e107 I'm trying to locate as Bender is my favorite prewar player. This one sold on Ebay a few months back and was in a SGC 10 holder at the time. Any help locating this one would be appreciated and I'd even throw in a finder's fee if I succeed in actually obtaining the card.

O.K. for everyone who asked me where the other half of the E93 set was, it's up on eBay. I sent some of the cards to GAI (and they came back undergraded, so what else is new?) and also some really sharp ungraded ones. I've also thrown in some GAI E96s in lower grade.
Everyone was saying they hate reserve auctions so with the exception of Matty, they are all low bid starters with no reserves. I may be nuts, hope not...

This photo pictures Fred Klobedanz, a left handed pitcher who played a few seasons for the 1890's Boston Nationals and is featured on page 73 of SABR's 19th century stars book. I have one available,

Pregraded 1.5 by GAI, Polar Bear back. Decent corners, with a heavy crease. Will consider a fair offer.

Also picked up a horizontal VG or so Nebinger "Big Eater". Could anyone help me out with scarcity and value on this one?

I was looking to see if anyone on the board had any interest in my e90-2 set and e90-3 partial set (15/20 cards).

e90-2 -- complete set, Condition is varied, a couple would classify as poor condition while others have graded out in the 3-4 range. Overall, a tough set to complete but here it is. Scans of each card are here:

e90-3 -- 15 out of 20 cards. Some of the cards are rough however this is 3/4 of an EXTREMELY hard set to put together. The known toughies are out of the way (Gandil, Hahn, Smith etc...) and most of the Hall of Famers (Evers, Walsh, Brown, etc...) are there as well. All cards are here:

I have picked up an Arlie Latham Players League N172 that is available for trade/sale. The card has a great photo and is slabbed PSA5(most PL cards are of low grade and have faded pinkish photos--this has neither). The neat thing about the card is that many Players League cards simply represent the player moving from a NL or AA team to the PL team in the same city. This card represents Latham moving from St Louis to Chicago in the PL. Therefore, the team name is different and, of course, the PL designation is also there. Should the card not be moved to someone of the board it will probably be consigned to a major auction. Please cotact me at curl777@aol.com.

A colleague of mine is retiring shortly from the federal government and relocating to Burlington, Vermont. He has purchased the home built by Larry Gardner who, after his playing career (1908-24), returned to his native state to become baseball coach and athletic director at the University of Vermont. Although not a collector, my colleague has an interest in obtaining a card of Gardner that he might display in his "new" home. Accordingly, if any board member has a card of Gardner in reasonable shape (vg-ex) and not too costly that he/she is willing to sell, please send me a scan and advise of asking price. Thanks. Mark
