runscottI recently completed the first card set in a new project: sets of cards based on the images in the Spalding Guides. The first set contains 51 of the 52 images from the 1905 Spalding "How to Pitch" book (one player is featured twice). This book contained full-page photos of pitchers from the 1904-1905 season, in a style which closely resembles the b&w caramel cards of the 'teens.
Cards measure 1 7/8 by 3 1/4", and each has a slightly modified copy of the title page on the back. Many obscure players and many HOF'ers: Bender, Chesbro, Brown, Griffith, Waddell, Mathewson, Walsh, Willis, Young, Joss, Nichols, Plank and McGinnity.
Additional detail about book and scans of sample cards can be found at: http://www.homestead.com/runscott/Pubs20th.html
Cost is $32 per set, which includes shipping - I will only be making these sets for a limited time, similar to the OJ Reprints. Next project will feature Horner photos from the "How to Run Bases" book.
