Piedmont cigarette card... anyone have info. on these?

I have a fairly large lot of cards that I recently purchased. I have one card that is a Piedmont with Howell on it..he played for St. Louis. It is in a Topps plastic and cardboard cover.

Any information on this type of card would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the Topps T-206 buy-back insert card

Phil, the 1909-11 T206s were tobacco cards, inserted inside packs of cigarettes way back when. Topps came out with a modern set that included, as inserts, genuine T206s cards put inside a speical Topps holder.

Howell had two different T206 images, a portrait, and an image with his hand at his waist. These are both considered common cards in the set, and the 2004 Standard Catelog lists these at $15 if in VG (very good) condition. This is just an estimate, some of these T206 cards are harder to find than others; prices will vary considerably with condition, as well.
