Just a heads up that EBAY seller ZZL has dumped many of the Library of Congress Baseball card images onto EBAY. Seller does note that they are reproductions, and seller even uses the magnification option from the Library of Congress website. Evidently, a LIBERTY FOR ALL want-a-be. |

this guy has over 500 pages of listings - can you provide a link to one of the ones you are describing? |

I have to give this guy credit: as he describes, he has taken the loc images and "fixed them up". Take a look at his Monte Ward auction and compare the image to the "J.Ward" cabinet on the loc -it's obviously the same image, but he has cleaned it up. I think he is providing a useful service and I'm looking at buying a few of his team pictures. |

Isn't this the same as the guy who did posters of Goudeys and other T-cards that everyone had such a problem with? |

Beyond an aesthetic argument, I beleive there's nothing to object to. The item is clearly represented as a reproduction and is 16" x 11" on modern glossy stock. The seller is not violating any copyright laws on this item, and the LOC does not own the rights to this particular image. |

My above post was not to suggest that an aesthetic argument is not valid. I was merely differentiating this Ward from all those correct-sized "I think it may be an old replica"s. |

These images seem to be pretty nice and may consider buying some to hang on my walls. If he is not violating any laws I don't see any problem. he is selling them as reproductions and they are larger than the regular cards of similar issue. |

I contacted the l.o.c. and asked if it was okay to sell their images - they basically said "yes". I contacted them initially because of all the fake o.j.'s on ebay being sold as "gee, I don't know nuthin bout cards but these may be real - no refunds...God bless". |
