Andy is correct. It depends on which post in the thread that you respond to. It is set up that way so that the response makes sense as opposed to being placed at the end of a long thread, out of sequence with the post which question it might have answered. However, in the example that you used, I agree it is a pain. Clearly, there is no perfect system of threading that will cover every situation. |
