and it's really tough to evaluate the card based on that scan. i'd be curious to see it under magnification, though like I said, there's more than ample reason to be skeptical. but...all of us who have had untrimmed cards returned for evidence of trimming know that the responses of grading companies can never "tell all."

one does wonder, though, why that particular spot would ever be rubbed out of an actual Magie error -- seems unlikely to have happened by accident -- kind of like those cards where the spot where "reprint" appears is the one spot with paper loss.
