How about the c. 1905 Faulk Cabinet Set of New York Giants (with the browing/purplish mounts), including McGinnity and Mathewson. As more than on example exists for some (though are still rare), I've wondered if this was commercially issued. I owned a few of them (including a trimmed McGinnity) a while back, but can't remember whether or not the mounts indicated the player names/teams (I think not)-- which would suggest they were for public consumption. |
