I've got to admit that I'm a little confused by the train of thought here. If you are equating a card's value with its catalog value then that may be part of the problem. On certain issues the catalog prices do not reflect the realities of the marketplace. Other than this I think some people are equating scarcity with value. The demand for the card or cards may be low so regardless of scarcity the prices are "cheap". This doesn't make them undervalued, it just says that when supply meets demand to set price there ain't much demand to meet. Uncle Jacks are cheap because very very few people care anything about these cards. I think the market at the auction level is relatively efficient and I would argue that there are very few if any undervalued cards. |
