If everybody in the hobby/industry had always banded together in unified morality to permanently oust its questionable characters, there wouldn't be much of an industry today. A lot of those very people are also responsible for tons of material coming out of the woodwork, among many other beneficial facets. It's a sad realization, but true, and certainly one reason why you still see people who have served time for their antics openly walking show floors today without a mob trying to burn them at the stake. What a strange thing it is that we're a part of.
When these realizations come over you, I can only prescribe a triple dose of whatever it is about this hobby that you find positive. For me, it's the research aspect: the continued discovery and acquisition of knowledge which aids in the overall journey.
