Some amazing pieces in this thread. Marty, that jersey is great.
JJ, I have a lot of sympathy with getting Hank Gowdy in the HoF but when I looked at his stats (WAR etc), I don't think that his one great season is enough to get him there. On of the reasons that I like Hank so much is that besides his 1914 season, he was just a nice guy and a patriot. Whether or not he's ever in the HoF, I think more people could do with knowing his story.
