Default Islanders

I grew up on Long Island in the hey day of the Islanders. It was pretty great. People were really into them. Got to meet Nystron a few times. Didn’t stay a hockey fan as an adult.

Any board members remember the Nassau Coliseum in the 70s and 80s? It was a pretty rough place at times. I remember when the Flyers came in all the stories about fights in the parking lot.

Yeah, I was a kid at the Coliseum in the 80s. The fans were jackasses, and my father got into it with some people because they were throwing beers, etc.

It was when I realized that Long Island was basically the same as North Jersey, but with people who couldn't hold their liquor as well and, generally, couldn't bench as much.
