1) You can currently buy identical gumballs(google baseball gumballs) 2) So many of these 100+ years old boxes still contain "original gum". Seriously what are the odds?? 3) In my opinion the phrases on the contained gumballs just doesn't fit. The phrases lead me to believe they would have originally been in a machine where it would be a suprise of which ball you would get. If you get "fly out" or "strike out" out of a machine you will keep putting coins in until you get a "home run" ball!
