The older Krause Standard Catalogue does really well listing strip cards. For years this was the best resource in the hobby for these. Even with that in hand it can be difficult to determine what sets a certain card belongs to. Eventually through the card #, color, orientation of the player, trademarks almost all strips fit one of the sets listed in the Standard Catalogue
