Default Any chance SGC gets back into auto authentication?

Not sure why they got out, but now under the Collectors umbrella, I’d think the holding company would want to squeeze Beckett out even more. It could help reduce the PSA backlog.

My thoughts are that there was a business reason why they stopped in the first place.

There were threads on the main board about SGC shutting down the autograph authentication division in 2019. If one were to ask SGC they would say it was to focus on their main business of grading cards however it did coincide with SGC and PSA both having found to have authenticated a very large number of autographed T206s that were forgeries. It was my understanding that SGC did this to avoid having to do buy backs and passed that on to those who sold the cards.

Spence has now partnered with CGC as well.
