If you're familiar with Joe Gerson's extensive signed cahcet collection, he had several of his envelopes stamped after the player passed away. It just makes things confusing for everyone else, especially people who aren't extremely familiar with the autographs at hand. To somebody who may lack the knowledge to be able to see past the post-mortem cancellation, it would just seem to them to be an obvious "fake" because of the postmark.
Regarding this one, it's obviously not a FDC with a 1986 postmark from the philatelic expo in New York City for the 1983 Ruth stamp. Then, they added the 1939 Centennial stamp to it as well?! Last edited by BillyCoxDodgers3B; 03-30-2025 at 06:31 AM. |
