The only portion of this statement I would dispute is the "a little" part.

Is anyone familiar with this figurine? He looks like a Stanford but has no underglaze paint, only over glaze paint. He also has no razor/coin slot. Prototype, knock off?Screenshot 2024-10-25 112053.jpg

“underglaze”? “overglaze”?

I don’t have any baseball banks, but I’m a picker/reseller and last year I came across the most wonderful Santa chalkware bank (like this one) that I use to decorate with at Christmas time.

Actually, I lied. I do have a baseball bank, but it’s glass.

Stanford Pottery would paint the grey doll after molding, typically the flesh tone (arms, hands, face) and the bat would get painted. The doll would then be dipped in glaze and fired, turning white except where the underglaze paint had been applied. Then they would trim the piece with overglaze paints, which were generally red and black paints (and gold for the tooth...lol). The interesting thing about the Stanford figure I show is that it is not chalkware, it is an actual fired ceramic.
