Default A Complete Uknown - Bob Dylan

My wife and I actually went to the movies a few weeks back because I convinced her to go see this movie with me. To my surprise, she really liked the movie, as did I.

I thought the movie was well done, and I especially liked how each character was portrayed, except for maybe the Johnny Cash version.

Loved the music, loved the acting, and liked the theme.

Anyone else have a take?

Saw it last week with my parents and my uncle. My wife didn't have an interest in going.

My Dad and Uncle loved it. My Mom kind of liked it, but had problems with the audio in the Movie Theatre.

I thought it was OK. Just thought it was missing some sort of emotional heft to it. I'm a Dylan fan, but personally thought it was a pretty paint by the numbers account of that time period.

Performances were very good. I actually loved the Johnny Cash portrayal in this movie. Didn't have a ton of screen time, but I thought it was the most interesting performance in the movie.

It was far different then the Joaquin Phoenix version that this same director did years ago, and which I liked a lot, but it was a fun take on Johnny Cash, in a movie that, outside of a few of Dylan's dry humor lines, didn't have very many "fun takes" at all.

Joaqin Phoenix is a wonderful actor but Reese ruined that film for me. I'm not even sure her performance was that bad, it's just her.

"Aw, June, things will work themselves out."

"Things do not work themselves out, John. Other people work them out for you, and you think they've worked themselves out."
