Day 356 - 21 December 2024
Today, I am showing you my graded post cards. Unfortunately, PSA will not accept all of the post cards as part of the Master Set. I have tried but have fallen short with PSA to add more. You will also notice several post cards are graded incorrectly. One of my rarer post cards is at the top left PSA Authentic / Auto PSA 10 circa 1960 Don Wingfield featuring Brooks Robinson. This post card is addressed on the back by Brooks. This is part of the PSA Master and the only one graded. The next is the 1957-59 looking left post card. This one is not part of the Master. You then see the two Exhibit Post Cards Graded as PSA 8s (blank back and stats back). Next is the 1971 PSA 6 graded incorrectly (should be a 1972), which is part of the Master. Then, you will see a 1971 PSA 8 graded incorrectly (should be a 1972), which again, is part of the Master. Next you will see a PSA Authentic Signature from 1973/74 not part of the Master. Next, you will see a 1972 PSA 6 incorrectly graded as a 1973, which is part of the Master. Next row, you will see the 1969 borderless post card graded as PSA Authentic Signature, which is not part of the Master. The 1976 Post Card is a PSA 10, 1977 Post Card PSA 10 Light Background / PSA 10 Dark Background are all part of the Master. The 1979 Coral – Lee and bottom Post Cards are not part of the Master. |

Day 257 – 22 December 2024
Today I am showing you some more Brooks Robinson photos. These Brooks Robinson photos are part of the Bethlehem Steele Family Nights. I am not exactly sure what years the Orioles handed out photos with the Bethlehem Steele Family nights. I think the first night was 1965, but not exactly sure. I believe the last year was 1970. I am sure my fellow fans will make corrections. The Photos come in a small booklet with a nice cover and player photos with details on the back about Bethlehem Steele. Assuming 1965 was the first year, I am assuming the Brooks Robinson Photo I have marked as 1965 (top Photo, far left) is from 1965. The rest of the photos I am certain of given I have a booklet to reference. Many of the photos are similar in appearance; the difference is on the back with the Bethlehem Steele Company facts. You will see photos from 1965 – 1970, front and back with the year marked. 1970 had two Brooks Robinson photos (a head shot and action photo). You next see my photo booklets between 1966 – 1970. Below the booklets are two of my scorecards from 1967 – 1968. If anyone has a extra 1965 booklet, let me know. I am missing a loose 1966 and 1967 photo. I have several loose photos for trade (1968 and 1969) and a couple extra booklets to trade (1969 and 1970). Below is a 1967 and 1968 score card from the Bethlehem Steel Nights. I am missing the scorecards from 1965, 1966, 1969 and 1970, too. |

Day 358 – 23 December 2024
Today I am showing the different coins in the Brooks Robinson PSA Master Set. Brooks first coin is the 1962 Shirriff Coin (distributed in Canada within Potato Chips; 221 different coins) and 1962 Salada Junket Coin (265 coins/221 players distributed in packages of Salada Tea and Junket Pudding Mix). In 1963, he appeared on the 1963 Salada Junket Coin (63 all stars or top players distributed in packages of Salada Tea and Junket Pudding Mix). In 1964, Topps produced the first of three metal coins. In 1964, Brooks appeared on the Regular Coin (120 coins) and All Star Coin (44 All Star Coins); my PSA 9 is highest graded. In 1971, Brooks appeared in a 153 player coin set with Topps distributed in the Topps Wax Pack. In 1965, he appeared on the Old London Coin (PSA 9, Highest Graded), which included 40 different players distributed in Old London Snacks. All of my coins are PSA 9 minus the 1971, which is a PSA 8. I would love to find a PSA 9 1971 PSA. Coins provided in picture. |

I'm not aware of a Bethlehem Steel booklet issued in 1965. If there was one, I've never seen it. I have complete booklets from 1966-1970. Mine are back in Maine, so I can't compare your photos to mine. I know the 1966 booklet isn't dated, while the others all are. Now you've got me very curious. |

Hi, Alan. I was not sure about a 1965 Booklet. Assumed there was one. Look at the back of the one I suggested was 1965. It is different than the others so assumed it was 1965. Compared to my booklets and assumed this one belonged to the 1965 booklet. I may have it all wrong.

Day 359 – 24 December 2024
Nothing special today as I am sure everyone has seen or owns one of these. First, I am showing you a larger version of the Norman Rockwell Print signed by Brooks Robinson. Brooks actually owned the original. Research the story. It was quite the ordeal for his family. I am also showing you an oversized poster of the 1993 Baltimore Orioles WS Champions (1966) Reunion Show. This poster is signed by each of the starting everyday players. It is also signed by many of the pitchers. |

Day 360 – 25 December 2024
Merry Christmas! Can’t believe Christmas has arrived. Today, in honor of my favorite holiday, I thought I would share some of my Baltimore Orioles Christmas Cards. The first one I had framed. I am not exactly sure what year it is but it is early 1960s. It references “Steve winning 20 games,” which he did in 1963 so I put this one as 1963. It is a letter to Santa. I believe this is Steve Barber (Orioles first 20 game winner). The next framed card has the Oriole bird beat up. This one is early 1960s, too. I should have taken a photo of the inside. I also had my “It can be done in ’61” Christmas card framed. I guess this one is 1961. I have a couple others from the 1960s unframed (A miracle on 33rd Street ‘Almost’ from 1960 and a1969 Photo version. Included are a few others from the 1970s – 2000s. I need to do a better job tracking these with a checklist. Always looking for more. Please show your cards. Merry Christmas!!!🎁🎄 |

Day 361 - 26 December 2024
I hope everyone had a great Christmas and found something new in their stocking related to Brooksie! Today I am showing you a Crystal Radio Kit adorned with the image of a couple Baltimore legends. Brooks Robinson and Johnny Unitas are on the box cover. Not sure about the basketball player and race care people. The radio kit includes the items needed to put it together and the instructions. This is not my thing but I wonder if it would work. The contents seem to all be there. I put the box in the 1970s but not really sure. Last edited by Chstrite; 12-26-2024 at 09:39 PM. |
