John: I don't think so on that one. From what I heard back in the day, he did not pay very much for Beckett and could easily afford what the price was at the time.

Doesn’t really seem like it. If it does, then it’s fairly incidental.

At the same time, I suppose there are plenty of us who are discouraged that so many of the major players in our world have checkered pasts. Or in some cases they were major players until their perfidy was uncovered. And sometimes they power through the perfidy and continue to be a major player in our world. But it doesn’t make it any less disheartening when another serious fail like this comes to light.

I have to agree. There seems to be an unsettling number of major players in the industry who get exposed for doing something shady.
