Default Mysterious Provenance of 1886 N167 Old Judge Joe Gerhardt

Earlier this year I bought a PSA 2.5 1886 N167 Old Judge Joe Gerhardt from Goodwill San Francisco on eBay. I was perplexed as to the provenance of the card and how it ended up being donated to Goodwill. Is anyone familiar with this card? Did a wealthy San Francisco collector's cards get donated to Goodwill? Just bizarre that Goodwill was the seller.

I wondered the same when I saw the card on eBay. Strange to say the least. Congrats on being the new custodian of the card. If I recall it started quite low in price and ended up at $16,100. My bids were far less. Would be nice to know the story of who was the previous owner.

That's a pretty strong grade. Did they miss the huge stain?
