I might give a dollar for that, if it included delivery...
Which color do you think that plate printed??? I don't think it matches up to any one color. If there were plates like that for the cards, don't you reckon that there would be a separate plate for each color, and that no one plate would s? And the cards were printed in sheets, not as individual cards... does that little plate show signs of having been cut from a large plate??? Maybe it is a linotype plate, or part of one. I can't imagine they would have used aluminum. I guess it could be a plate made for an advertisement of some sort, depicting the card in blank and white... And I don't think it is decades old. I think that's something someone made, either with intent of scamming someone, or if that wasn't the original intent it soon became the intent. And, I could be wrong about it all. I have no idea. Just something a guy sent my way to look at the photos for him. Evidently he bought it at auction quite a while ago
