Super excited to have recently picked up these two new purple number stamps!

A member reached out to me offering up both of these and I had to have them. I so rarely find these that it's very special when I do. Thank you so much for thinking of me Kevin. I really appreciate it!

Nice photo, and I love the Laurel and Hardy silhouettes that dominate the view.

Thanks Brian, I would be lying if I said the two folks silhouettes weren't equally as cool as the stadium portion lol. I believe this shot dates somewhere between 1905-1908.

Sam, very nice looking cards for the grades - congrats! Back in the day, these cards would easily be 3s, IMHO.

I know it's not baseball, but I also know some of us collect boxing, so I figured this would be ok.

I recently acquired this wonderfully cut W565 panel of Schwartz and Stribling. These aren't rare, but they don't seem so show up too often and I was very happy to get an uncut panel of these two. I need to Stribling for my boxing subset from this set.

Here's a super neat original photo I got yesterday. A kid with some 1961 Topps MVPs and all stars.

The photo is stamped Aug 14 1961.

nice card Brian

Congrats Everyone.

Looks like the Forum had another strong month for new pickups. And I love the diversity of the collections. I learn alot from what everyone collects seeing items I forgot about, never saw before, or giving inspiration and new ideas on collecting

Default September was a very good month for the collection

Johnson was an unknown. Since the first Howe-stamped card I got in 1992, and then since collecting nothing but Howe-stamped cards since 2007, I’d never seen a Johnson portrait. Very thankful to have been able to add it.

Hallman was one of those auctioned by Scott after the Goldin auction that I missed. Jonathan had been holding it, and one other he is still holding for me, until I could find replacements.

Gray and Mowrey are from the recent Higgins and Scott auction and were the two in that group I didn’t have. The winner of that auction was kind enough to let me add them to the rebuild. Mowrey was another that was unknown until then, and there were two in the lot.

Today, Ellam rejoined the group. He is the last of the four Eric had gotten from Scott late last year, and I finally found a replacement (although I think I may have gotten the better end of that deal).

In varying degrees of other good news, I now know the name of someone who purchased a HoFer from Scott who has said he will give me first dibs if he ever decides to sell. I know the name of someone else who got a HoFer Scott auctioned, and he says he will never sell to me. And the winner of the REA lot that has six cards I would like to secure has been in contact but has now gone silent for the last three weeks.

Again, thanks to everyone on the board who has been so helpful in first trying to get all Howe’s cards, then instead a complete set when that became impossible. As of today, I sit at 402 different cards, know of the existence of 32 of those I’m missing, and owner of nine of those. It wouldn’t be possible without the help of so many. Thanks.

Agreed! I thought this was a very cool item. I bowed out late on this one. Congrats to the winner!
