For common stuff trims really bug me. I was recently sorting my boxes and ran across a trimmed 67 Steve Carlton. I immediately tore it up and pitched it without even thinking about it. For vintage/rare stuff it's a case by case basis. I have a trimmed 1919 Zeenut Dazzy Vance that I'm happy to own.
