I've always enjoyed staying in downtown Chicago. I like catching either the Cubs or White Sox (or both, if I'm lucky), eating good meals, and getting morning donuts at Do-Rite Donuts [1].
If I'm up for it, I would just take the train out, but more often than not, I would hop in a Lyft to the show. Well worth it to make an entire vacation out of it and not just a card show. But I also see the appeal of staying across the street from the show, particularly if you participate in trade nights, etc. Cheers, Steve [1] It appears that my preferred location has closed since last National but there is still a location in downtown, and they've added Chicken to the name... Staying open longer than just "until we sell out of donuts". Last edited by brass_rat; 08-01-2022 at 09:29 PM. Reason: Typo |
