Still seems cheap to me given Soto's potential. I guess you're taking a gamble, though.

By what standard does that seem cheap? Just curious.

Topps Clear parallels are not as highly sought after as regular parallels. And some have actually melted when slabbed by PSA. Many people don't really like the acetate feel. Kind of like how 1/1 printing plates are usually worth less than red refractors /5.

I'm actually talking out of my butt pretty much, not even a card guy! It just seemed to me I've seen some enormous numbers floating around for Trout, Harper, Brady, etc., rookie and other rarities, and this one seemed to have everything but being signed to blow the roof off. I am fully prepared, however, to be brought down to earth by somebody who actually knows what they're talking about! In any case, I'm going to shut up now and stick to topics for which I have at least a modicum of knowledge.

It's all a mystery to me. Seems like a lot of money for a 4 year player but what do I know.

Great point. Being a DC guy, I'm no doubt putting Juan in that elite company prematurely. And whatever you know, Peter, I'm sure it's more than me!

It's baseball. Can't put anyone in that category at age 23 or whatever he is. Heck, while he's hitting a little better, he's still having a relatively mediocre year so far. No doubting his talent, but as we all know that's just part of the story.

I take it all back. And I certainly wouldn't mind putting those checks in MY bank account!
