Johnny U was one of several players that MacGregor signed as their "Advisory Staff'. They had baseball, football, golf and (I think) basketball stars, maybe other sports as well. I have a bunch of the 8x10s they issued.
The Unitas pic is the pose they used for this football. There are a couple of ads on eBay at the moment, one containing Unitas and Mike Ditka and others. I saw a 1963 date for this football but who knows?
