I prefer cards with no markings on them but if it's a card I want that happens to be marked I enjoy a good story behind it. For example in 2014 Heritage auctioned a set or near set of 1916 sporting news cards that had writing on them. The original owner as a youngster brought the cards to games and wrote the player stats on the cards.
