The idea of using a different name to sign up and check the site out is definitely plausible as is not going back and changing it again. I don't see a hint of bad intent there.
Same with the story about the slab. Doesn't come across at all like there was any intent to deceive or do something dubious. I think we can all agree that nobody, including everybody on here, is perfect. Let's not expect the same of someone else. If the user has multiple good deals in the past and this is the one hang up, then let him back in.
