know this feeling well. I sold a number of football set late 50s and 60s back in 1989 so I could get Upper Deck baseball sets and the elusive KG'j. I busted a boat load of packs and could never the "The Kids" card.
I had a second year Joe Willie Namath that was in beautiful shape. Traded it for two boxes of 89 UD wax. Busted them open and again I was DENIED! ARRRRRGGGGHHHH. But, who knew then that football cards would eventually become more desirable. I also had a 1968 Topps Football set that had the entire second series blue backs. I bought them from Card Collector Company for not very much. That and some other sets were traded for 89 Upper Deck Factory sets. |
