Don't know how much credence you take in pop numbers, but looking at just the 2 grade PSA pop:
Green 186 Bat On 174 Bat Off 178 3 grade and up the Green Cobb has least pop. I would have guessed Green Cobb to be most scarce across the whole board. |

It’s not uniquely rare compared to the other 3 Cobbs.

I don’t think PWCC auctions command the premium that they used to.
(Excuse the sentence ending in a preposition—especially if Barry S. is still lurking). |

Scarcity and demand are not correlated as closely as we might like. My personal theory is that the green Cobb is in higher demand than the red Cobb because the Young portrait is green too and they look great together.

The other thing is what is the breakdown of the various advertising backs for each of those. Which have more of the common backs vs more rare backs.

You see far less of the green portrait come up for sale in 4 grade or higher than you do on the other three poses. Seems every auction these days has a red background, bat on or bat off in a Psa 5 slab in its catalog.
When was the last time you saw a green Cobb pop up in Psa 5 condition, let alone in a Psa 4 slab. Don't get me wrong, there have been a few, but its slim pickens. I also think the green Cobb is much tougher to locate centered than the other 3 poses. My two cents...

Since we are discussing Green Cobbs, this one is listed on an auction site I follow. Assure me this is a fake so I am not tempted to keep watching it.

There are a lot of things not to like about that card based on those pictures.

Lemme see, bad photos of a raw rare card. Hmm. Unless you are buying from a certified village idiot, it is as fake as a three dollar bill.

Unless I'm way off, the SGC 2 from Ebay that Leon originally posted was a generous grade. To me it looks like a big patch of paper loss. Right side back from the top of "cigarettes" down to almost the bottom of "years". The small section between there and the s of cigarettes may be a peel and glue back down repair, but I can't tell well enough from the scan.
