That style logo would have been used by a generic team of no major importance.
And, judging from the equipment including his gauntlets, goal pads and built-up one-side stick, the image is probably from the mid-1910s (possibly a bit earlier), and maybe as late as the very early-1920s. As far as goaltenders wearing a different jersey from his teammates, I've never seen this in any hockey images or have ever read about it occurring in my time collecting antique hockey. Is the photo a postcard?
