Saw this in auction sight. Is the signature fake or real? Can anyone recognize the authenticator? I suspect it is fake.

The youngest that signature could be is 26 years old, blue sharpie is permanent but not lightfast and fades over time. I'm no expert but that one looks like it was written last Thursday...

Unless a piece was signed in person I always pass..

Good advice above... It all looks too new. If you're wanting a signed Mantle bat, keep looking.

UDA stuff is legit. The concerns about the quality of the signature shouldn't be ignored but it's entirely possible the bat has been in a tube for 30 years in a closet and not been exposed to light.

I believe it is authentic.

100% authentic. Auction should show the hologram on the bat that matches the number on the COA. Upper Deck witnessed all signatures. It is a perfect example. You won't find a nicer one.

It's good. That's what blue sharpie signed bats look like when they're kept away from sunlight and stored away in a dark closet. Nice bat.

Is there a UDA sticker on the item itself?

One thing that you should know. If you see an authentic bat you will have an authentic signature 99% of the time. The bats have to be ordered with the players permission. You can not just call up Louisville slugger and ask for a bat.

That sig looks perfect. The bat was obviously cared for and that is why there is no fading. I have many sign3d bats thqt looks as good as the day they were signed, 30yrs ago.
