I guess I'm glad that I'm not so old to have had the Russell RC in my childhood collection, but that is a great card!
For myself, it was less selling than just ruining the 1980 Magic/Bird rookie card. I expect I pulled six or seven from packs and separated them all as a kid. On the non-basketball front, I gave away almost all of my cards when I left for college, including dozes of rookie Rickey Henderson and Joe Montana cards. Although in all fairness, we were active enough that I'm not sure I had any/many PSA 8+ cards left....
