Seller promote their own listings. Just in case anyone doesn't know, sellers bid a percentage to have their listings towards the top of searches. I promote all my listings at 1% and the extra views help make more sales.

I used to do 1% as well, but I was paying extra money and got zero results. If someone outbids you and offers up a bigger percentage, yours doesn't get any exposure and you still have to pay the extra fee for nothing. Not worth it IMHO.
