Default Cincinnati reds check

IMG_6465.jpg

IMG_6466.jpg

Cincinnati Reds check written from Trustee Gary 'August' Hermann to Reds outfielder and National Baseball Hall of Famer Sam Crawford in 1902. This is check no. 2 from The Market National Bank account. Check No. 1 from this account is on display in the Reds Hall of Fame and Museum and was the check written to purchase the Reds in 1902. Sam Crawford has endorsed the check on the back. Rare autograph of Crawford during his playing days with the Reds before becoming a star with the Detroit Tigers.

Reds Lithograph by Bill Purdom. Signed by the starting nine. Until I saw Kreindler, I thought Purdom was the best baseball artist out there.

I might have made a deal with the devil to land the Reds Ticket Sign from Crosley Field. That sign is beyond cool!

Sadly, Purdom died four years ago. His Willie Mays lithograph "The Catch" is just beautiful.
