One of my favorite players from the set, the stories told about him are the best.
"He was notably unpredictable; early in his career, he would often leave in the middle of a game to go fishing. He also had a longstanding fascination with fire trucks, and had run off the field to chase after them during games on multiple occasions." |

The 6.5 is a recent pickup and the Sovereign is one that I picked up thinking I'd never upgrade it!

Gee, do you bring back some very fond memories. I set-up at Ed Walsh's Shows back in the 1980's. They were great fun at the Asbury Park (NJ) Convention Hall on the long pier overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Ed had great BB guests (Duke Snider, Bill White, Ernie Banks, Yogi Berra and wife, Carmen). It was a really great Show for selling, trading, buying BB cards. Boy, those were the days....you didn't have to take out an Equity Loan on your home to purchase BB cards ![]() Plus, the Show guests were the most cordial people you'd ever meet at a Show. Ernie Banks stopped at every dealer table to chat and see if you had stuff which pertained to him that he did not already have. Yogi Berra's wife was the most gracious lady I ever met. She, too, went from dealer to dealer chatting, and looking for Yogi's BB cards, memorabilia, etc. for their Grandchildren. And, I wil tell you this, Carmen really knew her stuff.
