Possibilities:
1) Counterfeit 2) Cut from Advertisement 3) Real, printed without advertising on back 4) Real, back separated during a soaking from a scrapbook (aka skinned). Happens with certain cards from this era. Without showing us a picture, it's all just theories. Even with a scan, it's just better theories... ;-)

Here are 2 blank backs on thick stock. I suppose they could just be missing a very thin layer that originally had the ad print. I have 5 or 6 more with blank backs that are thinner, which I assume are skinned. I included a card with the block lettering. The block letter ones that I have include the ad back. I have another blank, thick stock card on the way from Brockelman Auctions that I'll post later in the week.

David, which Radbourne do you have?
There's 2 variations, the blue socks one & the more generic red socks version. Here's my old one of Hoss, also classified "hands above waist" ![]() |

I have the blue socks. Is your variation blank back?
I believe purchase price was $225 back in 1997. David |

Nothing to contribute - I just wanted to post my two Gold Coins.
![]() I do have a question - I know the type A back (which both of mine have) came in black and blue. Is one tougher to find than the other?
