Recently picked up a handful of Phoenix Senators programs and team photos for my collection, including 2 extras of the 1950 yellow font program. The lot also came with a scorebook that kept track of most of the Senators’ 1949 games. Goes perfectly with 1949 team signed ball I already had!
If anyone has anything Phoenix Senators or Arizona-Texas League era stuff they want to sell or even just to show off I’d love to see it! ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Fantastic acquisitions. I also collect artifacts from a pair of defunct minor league teams, therefore I can appreciate the dedication and time towards the hunt. Congratulations on your pick ups and thanks for sharing!

I just picked up this 1941 Tigers program off eBay. The seller noted that the original owner had signed his name on the front, but I didn't mind.

Nice addition to your collection. I have always been curious, why Zack Wheat?

Al Wickland of Toledo Mud Hens. Seems like lots of reprints out there but I think this is real. Picked it up from Larry Fritsch - it was labeled 1920 but clearly a numbered 1922 example

Super excited to find this Boston Braves bank. Only the second bank like this I’ve ever seen with the other being a Detroit Tigers bank that our late friend Mike H had in his collection (which I believe he obtained from fellow board member Mark S).

Nothing earth shattering here but picked up former Cub & Dodger Paul Popovich GU bat and a Larry Stahl GU bat. Here's a cool fact about Larry Stahl. In 1972 he drew a controversial walk to end Milt Pappas perfect game. It is the only perfect game bid to be broken up by a walk to the 27th batter.

8-0, but Pappas told me in 2006, 34 years later that the call on the last pitch was incorrect. It was absolutely a strike, FWIW. IMHO, only Jim Joyce's (the 1st base umpire) horribly controversial call in the "Nearly Perfect" game in 2010 was worse... |

![]() ![]() Picked up this bobsled team photo from Troy N.Y....Coasting was a term for bobsledding back then...I'm into bobsledding antiques so this was a great find for me...So much of what's out there is European...but this is 150% American...and big at 17"x14"....I found two newspaper stories on a yearly winter sports festival held in Albany...Troy is only 7 1/2 miles away....I'm including the one from 1888 that this team is referenced in as the "United States of Troy"...on the side of the elaborate sled is a U.S. emblem....I get the feeling from the description of all the festivities of the event…and the mile long parade of sleds that people in the upper New York state area were eager to party...probably from being cooped up from snow...The sled looks like a work of engineering...From the serious uniforms the thirteen members must have taken a lot of pride in their club. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Been looking for these magazines for about a decade and scored a lot of ex-library copies.
Six-Man Magazine was annual magazine covering six-man football nationally. Printed by Claxton O'Connor who was the coach at Boy's Latin HS in Baltimore Maryland (and member of the lacrosse hall of fame). Printed semi-annually in 1946-48 and moved to annally I believe in 1949 with 1958 being the final issue. Magazines full of formations, diagrams, pictures, stats etc. At one time six-man football was the fastest growing sport in America and played in every state, now only a handful play with Texas leading the way with over 200 schools playing (IMO it is the best and most exciting form of football). Actively seeking more issues if anyone happens to have any and looking to make some cash. Last edited by ThomasL; 04-11-2020 at 09:43 AM. |

So, according to my records, I bought this on ebay on February 2013, but since I found it today, and have no memory of it before, I'm calling it an April pick up...
A supplement from the Scrantonian dated June 13, 1909. I can't find any others on the interwebs, but I haven't put much effore into it, yet. Doug |

I picked up a couple of more pieces of original art from artist Ronnie Joyner. They were featured in the Pirates On Deck magazine in 1996 celebrating the 25th anniversary of the 1971 Championship. To the right of the art is the final product as it appeared in print.

just picked up these two items from a massive collection here in Southern California. First, a 1979 Keith Hernandez game used batting helmet with excellent use. Then the best item, a 30" tall folk art piece of Babe Ruth signing for a young fan. After purchasing only did I find out that it was created by famed folk artists Bill and Phyllis Duffy. Super cool if the wife lets me keep it..
