My Gray has a big bottom border as well, but alas it is solid gold. The Gray is one of the handful of cards in the T205 set (Oldring and Thomas are a couple of other examples) that have the white nameplate on the bottom, which perhaps gives it more gold border for something to show up there.
You have an interesting card...may you find another to confirm a pattern. Brian
