The with trees in the original post is really interesting.
He has a clear number 4 on the sleeve. he was with Richmond in 1919, and New Haven in 1920. Did either team use uniform numbers? Some minor league teams experimented with them, and there was a brief major league experiment before that. And, is this the first baseball card to show a uniform number?
